The last seven years has seen a massive expansion in the air traffic handled by Liverpool Airport which until easyJet arrived had few scheduled services. From being a run-down disgrace, it now has a new terminal and is a major hub of several low-cost airlines most noticeably easyJet and Ryanair.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport is situated some seven miles south of the city and there is easy and quick access to the city centre by taxi or bus.

A new rail interchange in South Liverpool was completed in 2006 which is on the main London to Liverpool Line but also part of the Merseyrail system.  Garston station, which is on the Southport line, was moved next to Allerton station on the Liverpool-London and Manchester lines create an interchange for the two lines. There is a  bus to and from the airport and this new arrangement helps move passengers quickly to the rail network without having to go into the city centre, although at present the London Train does not stop there.

Manchester International Airport is some thirty miles east of Liverpool and there are excellent links by rail and road.

Websites like 'To and From' are very helpful, but the bigger they get, the easier it is to be out of date. I hope that by concentrating on Liverpool that my site will react to the changes that are occuring so rapidly. Where the link in my text is purple then the information is the latest that I can get.
