Kinselas restaurant was opened over 10 years ago in a single shop unit and soon established itself as a good cheap eating place for the students in the nearby university halls of residence.
It has recently been extended and now occupies a much larger area.
The intimacy has suffered slightly and it is a little odd sitting next to the large front widows but the food is as superb as ever.
Rose Lane Liverpool. Street sign.
The photograph shows a modern restaurant with a hint of Victorian buildings adjacent and this section of Rose Lane has the frontage of an old carriageworks nearby.
The food is basic and for the hungry is the place to go, with good wholesome food at a bargain price. This photograph shows a ham sandwich with accompanying salad and chips that my daughter ordered and as the modern phrase goes, 'It comes as it says in the menu'.
The steak sandwich is a real meal with a thick juicy steak and plenty of bread, chips and salad served on a large 10 inch plate. Once again it comes as it says nd for a hungry person is unbeatable for value at £5.95.
Kinselas is an excellent restaurant which for value is unbeatable. It is just the place to take the kids during the day and perfect at night for a cheap meal.
When suggesting improvements it is hard not to increase the costs, but here goes:-
On entering we were ignored by the bustling staff and did not know where to sit. There appear to be only 'MacChips', and I think an optional hand cooked variety could be offered at extra cost.
We were not offered or provided with mustard or horseardish etc. I know that I should have asked but a visit to HaHa in the Albert Dock shows what can be done with a simple cruet-like assembly.
My criticisms are meant to be helpful and my wife went back a week later and took her friends and her children. They all loved it!
