Rose Lane is an old Liverpool Road which lies between Mossley Hill Church and Allerton Road. It is a hotchpotch of houses and shops and in the past had a dairy and carriageworks indicating it's previously semi-rural position.
The Rose of Mossley public house was the only pub in Allerton until about twenty years ago when licensing laws were eased and the rapid development of bars and restaurants started on Allerton Road.
Kinselas was the first retaurant to open in Rose Lane and was an immediate success lying only a quarter of a mile from local Carnatic University Halls of Residences.
Opened in early 2004, Ba Reeva is a tapas bar and restaurant with an extensive menu. It is situated towards the Allerton end of Rose Lane in a row of shops.
Expresso plus is close to the Rose of Mossley and is a Coffee Bar which serves light meals and snacks.
