All about an allotment in Liverpool
A blog to complement my web sites about Liverpool and my allotment.

Still no rain although the temperature has dropped despite the sun shining all day, every day, Max 12.8 yesterday, 8.5 at night.

Two months ago I went very deaf after a sking trip and although I had no cold or catarrh I put it down to eustachian tube blockage. Today I blew my nose and the right ear popped and the hearing returned. It has been very trying both at work, and on the allotment, but the main person to suffer has been my wife, you cannot nag a deaf person!

I went to work yesterday morning and did not open the greenhouse, the temperature went up to 45 degrees and killed all my small seedlings; an important lesson!

The photo shows my couurgettes in the home-made greenhouse on the allotment. I have high hopes for this contraption which can be moved from raised bed to raised bed.

Great to find a new allotment Blog! Havew also been looking at your other site. I grew Dill's as well last year. The largest one weighed approx 170 lbs by the girth estimation method.
There are some pics on my blog if you are interested. (scroll down it a little)

I'm between homes at present so have had to give up my plot, so will enjoy following your 200lb attempt instead!

best
